International Children's Bible

When I first opened my package with the “International Children’s Bible” in it, I was a bit disappointed as I had thought and understood from the description that it was a children’s illustrated Bible, similar to the timeless favorite, “The Picture Bible”. So, I set it aside until I had a bit more time to take a look at it more carefully.

A few weeks later I found myself looking for a Bible to look up some references during a time of devotions with a group of my daughter’s teen friends. It was then I discovered exactly how wonderful this Bible is!

As it says, the “International Children’s Bible” is the Bible children can read and understand, and is the first Bible translated especially for children, at a 3rd grade reading level. Somehow, I had totally missed this explanation but each time I use it I’m seeing just how wonderful it is. And while it’s at a 3rd grade reading level, I’ve been using it with an older age group and have it to be so relatable, spoken in an everyday language. I have mainly used the age old King James Version, but in adding this to some of our times of reading, we find new meanings to some of the verses and passages we have gotten a bit familiar with over the years.

My First Blog...

Hello!  This is my first attempt at a blog, so let's see how it goes!  One of my passions is learning and along the same lines teaching.  A large part of that comes from reading – so that’s what this will be dedicated to – some of the books and things I read.  Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a book calling out to curl up with me and my favorite pillow….See ya!
